Gift Shop Clerk

Position Summary
To maintain the daily operations of the gift shop.
Essential Functions
Opens and closes the gift shop according to procedure.
Checks logs daily for new entries. Enters new information into the log.
Greets customers in a helpful, friendly manner.
Assists customers with their purchases.
Handles cash transactions. Maintains a bank. Makes cash drop.
Handles credit card transactions. Obtains and ensures proper authorization.
Records purchases in cash register.
Receives, records, and prices gift shop merchandise.
Maintains the gift shop in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion.
Position Requirements
Minimum Knowledge:
Requires ability to interpret / extract information and / or perform arithmetic functions. May require typing, CRT, record keeping, or word processing. May have need for good communication skills.
Formal Education and Job-Related Experience:
This position requires a minimum formal education of some high school and a minimum of less than six months job-related experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
